This site showcases 12 photographs taken by Neil Macmillan on the West Side and South Lochs districts of the island during June, 1998.

The Isle of Lewis is part of the Outer Hebrides group, off the northwest coast of Scotland. The principal town is Stornoway. All other settlements are villages varying in population from only a few residents to over 100.

Technical Notes
Originals were prints from 35 mm negatives on Fujicolor 100. Preparation for the web was performed in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe ImageReady. Titles and Celtic knotwork decoration were designed with Adobe Illustrator.

The background image on each picture page was prepared from a closeup of rock photographed near the village of Cromore in South Lochs.
